Paragon Scientific is excited to announce the opening of its new, purpose-built laboratory in Paarl – a major step forward in supporting animal owners, farms, and yards with fast, accurate testing and reliable results.
The new facility was designed to meet the growing demand for worm egg count testing and other laboratory services that help clients make informed decisions about their animals’ health and wellbeing
Building a Better Space for Animal Health
Over the past few years, more owners have started testing before treating, using results to guide their parasite control plans instead of relying on routine deworming. This shift towards evidence-based care encouraged Paragon Scientific to invest in a larger facility with improved workflows and capacity.
Paarl: The Perfect Location
“We built this new lab to maintain the level of service our clients know us for, while creating room to grow,” said Mel, founder of Paragon Scientific. “It’s designed specifically for what we do – from receiving and preparing samples, to managing workflow efficiently and maintaining the highest standards every step of the way.”
Paarl was chosen for its central position in the Western Cape’s strong equine and farming community, with excellent access to nearby towns such as Stellenbosch, Wellington, and Cape Town.
The new location also supports national courier deliveries, allowing clients from across South Africa to send in samples quickly and easily.
“Being in Paarl puts us right where many of our clients are,” Mel added. It’s a vibrant agricultural area and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
