Packaging Instructions
Upon Receiving Your Test Kit:
Information sheet(s)
- An Information Sheet is included in your Test Kit.
- Using the pen provided, complete the sheet accurately and legibly.
- The sample number and information on the sheet must correspond with the number on the sample bag or tape.
- Example: Sample 1 on the Information Sheet must correspond to bag/tape number 1.
- It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that correct samples are placed into the allocated bags or attached to the allocated tape.
Important: The Information Sheet must be returned with the Test Kit.
Glove(s)
- Glove(s) are provided for hygiene purposes.
- Glove(s) must be worn when handling samples.
Collecting Samples:
- Samples may be collected on the day of dispatch or the preceding day, provided they are refrigerated until shipment.
FEC, Fluke, Coccidia, Sand, and Lungworm Tests:
- Bags are provided in your Test Kit.
- From a fresh manure sample, fill the bag with faeces.
- For best results, collect small portions from multiple areas of the manure pile.
- Securely seal the bag, ensuring the ziplock is tightly sealed.
- Verify that sample numbers correspond with those recorded on the Information Sheet.
- Place the sealed sample bags into the postage bag.
Note: Samples that are incorrectly packaged will not be processed, and no refunds will be provided.
Pinworm Tests:
- Use the provided tape.
- Peel back the backing paper (do not remove from the staple) and apply the tape to the perianal region of the animal.
- Remove the tape from the animal and re-adhere it to the backing paper.
- Do not attach the tape to standard paper, cardboard, or any other surface.
- Verify that tape samples correspond with the Information Sheet.
- Place the tape and backing paper into a ziplock bag.
Note: Samples that are incorrectly packaged will not be processed, and no refunds will be provided.
Returning Samples:
- Include your Information Sheet when returning samples.
- Samples should be shipped with an ice brick to maintain sample integrity.
- If returning the Kit yourself:
- Use an overnight courier service to ensure timely delivery.
- Do not send samples on Fridays or over weekends, as this may delay delivery.
- The cost and responsibility for shipping rests solely with the Client.
- If making use of the paid courier service:

- Paragon Scientific may decline testing if samples are not fresh enough upon arrival.
Note: For shipments exceeding 30 samples, contact us to discuss alternative delivery arrangements.
Results:
- Laboratory results will be emailed to the address provided by the Client on the website order form.
- Paragon Scientific accepts no responsibility for:
- Results not received due to an incorrect or inaccessible email address
- Unauthorized access, sharing, or viewing of results
- The results provided pertain exclusively to the sample submitted and reflect the animal’s parasite status on the date of collection. Parasite burdens are dynamic and can change. Therefore, these results should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future health status. We accept no liability for changes in the animal’s condition after the sample was collected.
- Individual test reports are stored for a maximum of six (6) months, after which copies may no longer be readily available.
- Clients are responsible for downloading, storing, and backing up their reports.
- Requests for additional or replacement reports after this period will incur an administrative fee.
